As for the purpose of going green, all Leos are advised to bring their own bottle of water and Tupperware on that very day for lunch as we are trying to help reducing the usage of plastics or paper cups and plates. Cups and plates will not be provided during the lunch break.

Leo Day 2010 - MAD Eco Parade

Organizing Committee for District 308 B2 Leo Day 2010 would like to extend thier warmest welcome to invite our club members to participate in District 308 B2 Leo Day 2010 (in conjunction with M.A.D.Celebration). The aim to organize Leo Day 2010 is to celebrate Malaysia Leo Clubs 40 years in service, alongwith the theme of “Making A Difference”.

The event to be held as follow:

Time: 9am-6pm (5th December 2010)
Venue: Penang Times Square Jalan Dato Keramat
Registration Fees: RM6 (include Insurance, light breakfast and certificate)

For your information, their celebration will include a M.A.D. Parade and ECO costume competition. Once you have register, you have to dress up ONE or more members with creative ECO costume during the parade contingent. Best costume’s trophy will be awarded to the winner.

“HAND IN HAND”

Leo Club of Ipoh Unity will be organising a hand print project with the theme “Hand
in Hand”. It is a project where we will collect hand prints of at least one representative from
each club in District 308 B2 in conjunction to the Leo Day which is held on 5th December
every year. The objective of this project is to promote friendship among Leos in our district.

As such, the organising committee would like to invite our club members to participate
in this project by putting down your hand prints and write a short and simple message on a
piece of cloth. The cloth and other materials will be provided to each region. You may also
use your own materials.

Due to time and travelling constraints, we have assigned a coordinator for each region to
collect the hand prints. Kindly contact the following respective coordinators for hand printing
arrangements:

PUBLIC HEALTH TALK ON CERVICAL CANCER

This public health talk is jointly organized with Lions Club of Ipoh Bougainvillaea City and
Leo Club of Ipoh Unity. Co-Organized by Olympia College, Ipoh and sponsored by GlaxoSmith
Kline. The speaker for this talk is by Dr Sharifah Halimah, Consultant O & G Specialist from
Ipoh Specialist Hopsital.

The purpose of organizing this project is to create awareness among women regarding
cervical cancer affecting ladies. In Malaysia, it is second most common cancer affecting women
and everyday 2 women die of cervical cancer. Our Malaysia government already starts HPV
vaccination for 13 years old female students only. It show that our Malaysia government realize
the importance of protect females.

Vaccination Fee: RM 160 per injection for 1st dose (Must register before 27th October 2010)

-1st injection will be conveyed on the day and payment is required
-2nd and 3rd course injections can be taken at respective clinics or hospitals

MUTIARA CUP BOWLING COMPETITION 2010

Leo Club of George Town Mutiara invited us to their MUTIARA CUP BOWLING COMPETITION. The purposes of this project are to foster our relationship among Leo Club members in Penang and to raise fund for charity projects.

Joint Beach Cleaning Project

Our Club, Leo Club of ACG Benevolent Unity (O) will be organizing a 2D/1N Joint Beach Cleaning Project at Penang with Leo Club of Southern Cross (O). Joining this eco-project is the Leo Club of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (O) as our guest club.

A meaningful and green project to promote awareness on the importance of maintaining our environment clean, currently we have 40 SEATS available so book your spot fast! Do not miss the fun Leos! Roar!!

M.A.D Leo Camp

MALAYSIAN LEO M.A.D CAMP 2010 (Making A Differene), to be held at Barre I.J Centre, Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands ,from 26 to 28 November 2010.


Registration fee for Leo members, not limited to District 308B2 only, is RM120 per person. The fees include a 2 night accommodation based on shared dormitory, 2 breakfasts , 3 lunches , 1 dinner , 2 suppers, T-Shirt and insurance coverage during the camp . The registration will be limited for 200 pax and based on a first-come-first-serve basis.


The objective of this camp are
• To create and foster the spirit of understanding among Leos in District 308 B2
• To instill in Leo members the safety and appreciation of the environment
• To provide activities promoting teamwork , discipline , tolerance , independence and self-endurance
• To encourage sharing of ideas throughout District 308 B2
• To develop leadership potential among Leos

Activities such as Cooking Competition, Jungle Tracking, Team Building, Treasure Hunt and Fellowship sessions are incorporated within the camp to instill the M.A.D experience of a Leo member.
