New active members had joined ACGBU this year and are doing their BOD's job. For example, me. I'm doing Steven Sng's job by posting this for him =D

For members,
Flight tickets to Langkawi for the forum are available but be quick! Or else you'll have to buy your own ticket and get your own passport picture. If you inform Lam Ai Ping now, you'll just have to hand her your money for the forum and email her a picture if you don't have your passport picture! She'll crop it for you don't worry =DD

Sambutan Hari Raya & Pesta Tanglung

Date : 10 September 2010, Saturday.

Time : 4.00pm - 11.00pm

Location : MPSJ, for those who don't know, its at USJ5 Subang Jaya =)

Come join us and celebrate these 2 prestigious festival together with your family and friends! Lots of activities are ready for your entertainment that you don't want to miss out!

Like Angry Birds? Don't worry, games booth provides you a 'manual' Angry Bird. Carnival games can be found too :) (Ring toss, dart games, ball - in - a - bucket, you name it we got it)

Don't worry if you're worn out after playing too much games and enjoying for time with your loved ones and kids, variety of foods are available at your service. Craving for Kebab? Or maybe pasar malam food? Then you should stop by to grab a bite ;)

Not forgetting, we have Tanglung DIY classes and health talk about hormones by Dr. Tan and Dr. Liau. Not your favourite agenda? Performances will be heating up the stage bringing energy to the crowd! Dances to make you move and bands to make you rock!
There will be sports cars & super cars auto show. You can have a chance to cruise with it for a price that will be donated.

Feel like doing something challenging? Participate in out Tanglung making competition. Mahjong paper and rotan sticks will be provided. Participant make bring their own materials or elements of creativity. Winner will get to walk away with RM500, 1st runner up will be RM300 and the 2nd runner up will be RM200.

All proceeds for this event is going to an orphanage. Be proud of yourself for donating and helping the children to have better days :)

Gift Wrapping @ Toys R' Us

Date: 17-19th December 2010

Time: 11am - 9pm

Venue: Toys R' Us @ 1Utama

What We Do?

We'll be wrapping gifts for free, all for the customers of Toys R' Us.

Objective:

We'll be collecting donations from the customers of Toys R' Us.

Donations collected is to pay for the orphanage.

Donations:-

-Back to school haircut

-Christmas movie watching

-Transportation to theater

- ETC ETC

ALL Just for the Childrens!

There is also Wishlist Project on that day.!

We'll be putting up a WISHLIST made by the orphans of Rumah Sherlom.

The wishlist consist of the things they would like for christmas! Our aim is the public could contribute some to get them the the gifts for them! May they be happy during Christmas...

Peace Poster Contest!

~ VISION OF PEACE ~ 和平的愿景

Date : 14^th November 2010 (Sunday)

Time : 1 PM – 6PM

Venue : Ground Floor of Axis Atrium @ Axis Pandan

Objective

A Community service project organized by the Lions Club Ampang City Garden and giving an opportunity for children to express and illustrate their vision on what PEACE means to them.

For children age 11, 12 and 13 years (on 15 November 1997 , 1998 & 1999)

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Participants must report at the registration counter at 1PM. Please bring along a photocopy of your Identity Card or Birth Certificate for our verification.

2. Organizers shall be providing the Art Block measuring 20” X 24”.

3. Each participant may submit only one entry and each entry must be his or her original work.

4. NO WORDS in any language may be used on the art block.

5. NO photographs may be used.

6. NO three dimensional entry.

7. Nothing may be glued, taped, stapled or attached to the art block in any way.

8. Participants must bring their own pencils, crayon, pens, markers, paints or chalks.

Chalk entry should be sprayed to prevent smearing.

9. All entries become the property of Lions Club Ampang City Garden and will not be returned.

10. By entering this contest, participant agrees to be bounded by these rules & decisions of judges.

11. Prizes: Locally, prizes will be awarded to 3 winners.

JUDGING

1. Poster will be judged based on originality, artistic merit, portrayal and expression of the theme “VISION OF PEACE”.

2. Decision of judges is final and NO protest will be entertained.

3. Once the local winner is chosen, the winning poster may face four more levels of judging:

District and Multiple competition (Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei), plus the International

semi-final and final rounds to be held in the United States of America.

4 International Grand Prize : These are 24 winners will be selected,

Out of these, a grand prize will be chosen.

A trip to USA with two family members where you will receive a cash award of USD2,500 (or local equivalent) and an Engraved commemorative plaque.
